Notice as received from the Kern County Department of Public Works:

The Kern County Public Works Department is informing residents living in the Frazier Park mountain communities that on Monday, September 26, 2016 from 8AM to 2PM, Frazier Mountain Park Road will not be accessible at the I-5 interchange due to a resurfacing road improvement project.  During this period, the I-5 "On and Off" ramps will be CLOSED and traffic will be detoured to either the Gorman or Lebec exits from I-5 for access to Frazier Mountain Park Road.

Residents from the Frazier Park mountain communities that need to access I-5 are advised to use the following alternate routes:

    • South Bound I-5 - take Peace Valley Road to Gorman (note: Peace Valley Road has been renamed Ralphs Ranch Road)
    • North Bound I-5 - take Lebec Road

"We make every effort to minimize the impact that road projects have on the public" says Craig Pope, Director of the Kern County Public Works Department, "but on-going maintenance cannot be avoided".  The public is encouraged to plan ahead and allow more time for possible delays caused by this road improvement project.

For questions regarding this project, contact Mark Evans, Roads Maintenance Engineering Manager, at (661) 862-8854

Militsa Brennan has been a Chamber member for several years (Brennan's Dreamweaver Ranch) and donates a tremendous amount of time and talent to several organizations in our communities. I have never met anyone like her, and am so grateful for everything she has done.

I was heartbroken to hear that she suffered very serious injuries in a horse riding accident in preparation for her annual "9/11 Ride to Remember" parade.  Due to the severity of her injuries, a long recovery period is anticipated.  One of her friends, Lori Hallmark, has started a Go Fund Me to assist with medical expenses and rehabilitation.

Even if you haven't met Militsa, I'll bet she's done something that has affected your life here in a positive way. You can read more about her, and her volunteer work on the Go Fund Me page.

Please join me in making a donation to her recovery fund and share this information. Any amount will help  So far, $6,295 has been raised toward the first goal of $10,000!

Thank you so much ~ Rachel
