Your Chamber team was working on a community cleanup day for Frazier Mountain Park Frontage Road in Lebec but the County did one better and sent a work crew to take care of everything!

The fence should be fixed soon too. A big thank you goes out to Supervisor David Couch and Ryan Schultz for coordinating with Chamber board member Debbie Turner.

If you would like to be on our volunteer roster for upcoming community clean up events, please let us know!  Email board@mymountainchamber.com with your contact information.  We're in this together!

You may recall a few months ago, we were exploring the possibility of starting a semi-annual Shred Day so residents and businesses would have an easy opportunity to get rid of old paperwork.

Great news!  We found an even better solution to a 'once in a while' Shred Day.

Bakersfield BARC makes monthly trips to our region.  There is no trip charge and the price per box depends on the quantity of boxes.  Bill Casey is their contact person and his cell phone number is 661-487-2260.  He will give you  a quote when you call for a pick-up.

Their next three trip dates to Frazier Park are April 5, May 17 and June 28.

Their staff is not allowed to go up stairs, so you should plan to have your boxes available on ground level.

What makes BARC such a great option?  BARC is a nonprofit organization and their mission "...is to build a stronger community by helping people with intellectual and developmental disabilities achieve individual goals for a better life."

Many thanks to Chamber member Sari Potes of Altamont Hotel Management for passing along this information!  She also says "I had my boxes picked up last week and it went so smoothly.  Two very nice guys and one truck, it took less than five minutes."

You can learn more about BARC and their document destruction service here.
