When you become a member of the Mountain Communities Chamber of Commerce, you join a dynamic group of individuals that represent the business and ongoing interests of our communities.
Participation is key to making contacts in the business community and we encourage you to get involved in one of the many committees. Our committee structure is the heartbeat of our Chamber. Our committees help, plan, provide information and develop guidelines to insure that you have invested wisely in our organization.
The Chamber is dedicated to offering visibility and value to our membership. Your $100 membership returns at least $1,000 in valued services, savings and promotions! Here is how the Mountain Communities Chamber of Commerce supports and works to promote you and your business:
Proudly display your chamber membership on your website, with a special graphic available only to chamber members.
Member Link to the Web
Once invested in the Chamber, your membership provides a detailed listing for your business, with complete contact information, business description and a link to your website and Facebook page. You can also add photos to showcase your business products and services.
"Mobile Minute" educational videos are included on our YouTube channel and are only accessible through the "Members Only" area of our website. These short videos show you how to increase your reach and engagement through your social media accounts and website.
“Just Ask Us” Program
Only our members are referred in response to inquiries from tourists, individuals looking to relocate, students, local residents, and the business community. Your next customer may come from the Chamber office. We make hundreds of referrals each year!
Mountain Resident Sticker Program
Rearview mirror hang tags are available to local residents for a small fee (net proceeds are reinvested in the community). These tags are used by the CHP to quickly identify residents and wave them through chain checkpoints during snow events. This helps keep traffic moving and makes things easier for residents. Tags are available for purchase at participating Chamber member business locations. There is no cost to participate. The Chamber offers a portion of the proceeds to the business in return for making the tags available and checking identification to verify residency.
ChamBEAR Bucks Program
A universal gift certificate program only available to Chamber members. We issue gift certificates that may be redeemed at any participating member business. When ChamBEAR Bucks are redeemed, the business contacts the Chamber for full reimbursement of the certificate face value. There is no cost to the participating business.
From time to time, certain issues may require your vote such as as revisions to the Bylaws that will be voted on by the membership. As a member, your vote is a powerful tool and should be used to make your voice heard in chamber matters.
Let the citizens of the Mountain Communities know you have a voice in their community. Proudly display your membership plaque; many members look for it while doing business with one another.
Subscription to Weekly E-news
The Chamber publishes a weekly e-newsletter highlighting our activities and also our members news and upcoming events. New members receive an introduction in the newsletter.
Liaison to Kern, Ventura and Los Angeles Counties
The Chamber represents our local business community on key issues. We also have a board member available to assist you with any special needs in working with the different departments of the three counties that we represent.
Online Event Promotion
Available exclusively to members is the Chamber Calendar. Members are welcome and encouraged to list their upcoming events and programs. The Chamber also maintains a list of numerous free advertising opportunities in our 'members only' section, to help promote your event across several event websites and online newspapers.
The Chamber hosts several networking programs. Among them are the Business After Hours mixers, Business Workshops, and membership meetings. Only members are eligible to host a Business After Hours mixer or other chamber event. NOTE: Due to feedback from members citing busy schedules, mixers and meetings are on hold temporarily. We look forward to resuming soon!
Grand Openings/Ribbon Cuttings
The Chamber is pleased to offer ribbon cutting ceremonies to its members to increase their visibility to the public. Whether it's to celebrate the opening of a new business, a re-grand opening of an existing business, or an anniversary celebration, the Chamber is available to help you promote your event. Ribbon Cuttings include promotion of the event, certificates from government representatives (with enough notice), recap on our Facebook page, and a write-up in Chamber Chat (photo included).
Guest Writing Opportunities
Would you like to write about a topic of interest to our local business community? This is a great way to increase your 'top of mind awareness' among chamber members without directly marketing to them. Position yourself as an expert by writing an article (or several!) for our weekly e-newsletter and/or our website. You may also submit news about your company for publication (new hires, award received, special initiatives, etc.) We reserve the right not to publish articles that may be inflammatory or deceptive in nature. Please keep it professional.
Board and Committee Service
Members in good standing are eligible to serve on the board of directors, and may participate in any of our many active, dynamic committees, covering a wide range of interests.
Preferential Rates on Chamber Events and Programs
Chamber members receive preferential rates on our events, and other programs like workshops, and advertising initiatives. This preferential rate also includes the billboard advertising on Frazier Mountain Park Road.
Only our members can display their business cards and promotional materials at Chamber events. This offers exposure to numerous businesses and visitors.
Information resources are available from the Chamber. Examples include community demographics, local and area phone directories, a community calendar, a list of clubs and organizations, OSHA regulations, SBA publications and more.
Members receive priority consideration when selecting providers for products and services used by the Chamber.
